These thirteen little ducklings were rescued last evening. Luckily a lovely caring couple from Bearwood saw them without their mother & contained them safely until Chris & Sarah arrived. Despite searching for the mother she could not be located so the brood were taken to our rescue centre where they are doing well.

Hugh, Pugh & Barney were sadly orphanned at only three days old, after their mother rejected them when the nest was disturbed.

Spencer didn’t want to be caught
Posted by dorsetwildlife on May 10, 2013
Spencer was an old badger who had a nasty bite to its hind quarters! We were called to Pimperne on bank holiday Monday by a lovely family for a badger trapped down the side of their garage! After quite a fight to get him out we brought him back to the treatment room and treated the wounds and I am happy to say he is already back in the wild!!!!

Happy Family
Posted by dorsetwildlife on May 3, 2013
An amazing happy day, neighbour knocked on my door to say that 7 ducklings has fallen through a drain cover near our house – went into immediate panic thinking Nick I really really need you! When I got to the place someone had taken off the drain cover & the 7 little ducklings had fallen 4 feet to the muddywater below. Luckily a man turned up who happened to have a kiddies fishing net & we got them out & kept them safe in a box with mum watching nearby – unfortunately she flew off before we could get her – so we walked up & down the road for ages with her flying overhead – I made an emergency call to Nicks nephew Chris – who is now our head rescuer & within 10 mins he appeared in his ambulance with the proper equipment we needed – we placed the ducklings in a cage & with mum following in the air we got to the lake – mum flew down near to where we had put the cage & when Chris opened it they all trotted out & ran to mum, well….all but 3 who went the opposite direction & ended up falling down a steep embankment – I followed & crawled through a holly bush to get to them – ouch – but they then disappeared down a fox hole arrrggghhhh. But we waited till they came out & directed them the the waters edge, it was a frantic wait as it took mum 45 mins to return to get them but we’re all on a high after seeing them all back together. Also made me feel good, that I CAN do rescues with out Nick because of the knowledge he taught me, thank you darling I know you were watching & helping me & Chris, & that you are proud of us.
